BAUGIN Caspar (Bauhin Caspar, 1560 — 1624) — the Swiss anatomist. Got an education in Basel, Padua and Montpellier. In 1588 the department in Basel where he taught anatomy and botany was offered K. Baugin. In 1614 received department of clinical medicine in the same place and held a position of an archiater — heads of city board of doctors. K. Baugin possesses detailed works on anthropotomy and a systematics of plants.

It improved anatomic terminology, hl. obr. in the field of a myology.

The term «valvula Bauhini» — the gate is connected with his name at a confluence of an ileal gut in thick, to-ruyu it described.
