ASKERKHANOV Rasheed Pashayevich (sort. in 1920) — the Soviet surgeon, the member correspondent of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1974), the honored worker of science of RSFSR (1970) and DASSR (1957), professor (1955). The member of the CPSU since 1945. After the termination in 1943. Dagestan medical in-that it was left the intern at department of hospital surgery; since 1946 — the assistant, since 1953 — the associate professor, and since 1958 — the department chair of faculty surgery of the same institute.
R. P. Askerkhanov is an author more than 250 scientific works, including 8 monographs devoted to hl. obr. to problems of chest and vascular surgery. It developed methods of a flebografiya (1950), original vein (1950 — 1973), liver and lungs operations at an echinococcosis and an amebiasis (1960 — 1965), at a diastase of direct muscles of a stomach (1962), etc. Under its management 40 dissertation works, including 5 dokt are performed.
R. P. Askerkhanov was the deputy of the Supreme Council of DASSR of two convocations (1959 — 1967). It is an organizer and the chairman of the Dagestan island of surgeons, the board member Vsesoyuznogo and Russian science foundations of surgeons, the honorary member of many republican and regional societies of surgeons; member of a plenum of the Cardiological island; full member of the international societies of surgeons and phlebologists. Directed 6 scientific conferences of surgeons of Dagestan and a congress of surgeons of the North Caucasus (1960, Makhachkala); repeatedly represented the Soviet surgery abroad. It is awarded by two awards «Sign of Honour» and medals.
