ARISTOVSKY Vyacheslav Mikhaylovich (1882 — 1950) — the Soviet microbiologist, the immunologist; academician of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1945), honored worker of science of RSFSR (1945), major general of medical service.
In 1908 ended medical f-t Kazan un-that. In 1903 it was arrested for participation in revolutionary movement of students. Since 1909 began research work under the leadership of I. G. Savchenko in Bacteriological in-those at Kazan un-those. In 1912 protected dokt. thesis «Influence of reaction of the environment on a specific cytolysis». In the years of World War I — the medical officer in hospitals. In 1916 worked in «Special laboratory on preparation of protivobubonnochumny drugs IEM» («A plague fort»). Here together with E. S. London performed work «About ways of receiving a tetanin», was engaged in production of antitetanic serum for army. Since 1918 — the privatdozent. Since 1920 — the manager. departments of microbiology Kazan un-that and Ying-that improvements of doctors (Kazan). In 1925 Narkomzdrava Tatarskoy of the ASSR organized Regional microbiological in-t, the Crimea directed till 1930. Since the end of 1932 worked at department of microbiology of VMA of S. M. Kirov (Leningrad).
V. M. Aristovsky studied sypny and returnable typhus, diphtheria, scarlet fever, tuberculosis, syphilis. Its main scientific interests were concentrated on studying of spirokhetoz (a typhinia, syphilis). He developed a method of cultivation of spirochetes of a typhinia on artificial mediums; offered the original device for cultivation of anaerobe bacterias (Aristovsky's device). A number of works on a wound mephitic gangrene (gas gangrene, tetanus), in particular on experimental tetanic intoxication, executed together with A. D. Speransky.
V. M. Aristovsky is the author of 74 scientific works, including «The textbook of medical microbiology» (sovm, with I. E. Minkevich and S. M. Fried, 1945, 1949). For a number of years was the chairman of the Kazan island of doctors, the Leningrad department of Society of microbiologists, epidemiologists and infectiologists.
