APRICOTS Alexey Ivanovich (1875 — 1955) — the Soviet pathologist, the academician of Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1939) and USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1944), the vice-president of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1944); Hero of Socialist Work (1945); winner of the State award (1942); member correspondent. Polish AN. The member of the CPSU since 1939.

A. I. Abrikosov published 105 scientific works, among them a number of monographs, the guide on a stalemate. anatomy for doctors, the guide to technology of pathoanatomical openings, the textbook for students (sustained 9 prod.). In works on tuberculosis (1904 — 1923) it in details described morphology of initial displays of pulmonary tuberculosis at adults, added and changed classification of tuberculosis, showed distinction of fabric reactions at this disease and their dependence on features of reactivity of an organism. A. I. Abrikosov published the materials on pathological obesity of cellular protoplasm received using histochemical techniques (1913); materials about clinical value of changes in the autonomic nervous system where allocated separate types of defeat of nervous cells, nerve fibrils and elements of a glia (1922). It described (1925) special type of a muscular tumor (granular cell myoblastoma) which entered the world literature under the name «Abrikosov's tumour»; gave the morphological characteristic of allergic fabric reactions (1933); published materials on studying of sepsis and a wound process (1942 — 1943). A. I. Abrikosov described changes of bones at a scurvy at adults and children (1916), at a fibrous osteodystrophy (1926); histology and classification of paraffinomas (1927); morphology of lipoid pneumonia (1943). Its monograph «Pathological Anatomy of Area of a Mouth and Teeth» (1914) did not lose value of the management in this area of pathology.
In 1938. A. I. Abrikosov began to make the multivolume management on a stalemate. anatomy for doctors. Three volumes of this management left during lifetime of the author, other 9 volumes in 1955 — 1964.
Under the leadership of A. I. Abrikosov it was executed apprx. 500 scientific research. He was the organizer and head Vserossiyskogo and Moscow scientific the island of pathologists, the Honorary Chairman of the Moscow island of pathologists, the honorary member of the Moscow island of testers of the nature.
A. I. Abrikosov was a member of Academic medical council of M3 of the USSR. He was repeatedly elected the deputy in the Moscow Council of deputies of workers.
In 1 prod. BME A. I. Abrikosov headed an edition department «General pathology, pathological anatomy, pathological physiology, forensic medicine, histology, embryology, the microscopic equipment». From 1935 to 1955 he was an editor of the Archive of Pathology magazine.
The USSR Academy of Medical Sciences is founded the award of A. I. Abrikosov awarded for the best work on a stalemate. anatomy. The bust of the scientist is established at the building of department a stalemate. anatomy of the 1st MMI of I. M. Sechenov; on a wall of the house where he lived, the memorial board is established; the street on the Maiden field where it worked is called by his name.
